Super Maths Workshop

Get coding by programming robots to go, find and validate answers, and improve mathematical skills by solving problems and equations!

Overview

After teaming up, the children receive a card with a mathematical problem or equation and a clue. The children need to solve the given problem/equation first, and then on a double entry grid mat, where each cell has a card that hides a number, the young learners use their coding skills and decode the given clue which is a grid reference (e.g. A2, B4, C7) to send their robot in order to find the card that has the right answer. If the revealed answer on the card confirms their answer, they collect the card and make the robot go back to the start.

At the end, all the teams are praised for the number of cards collected.

Highlights

  1. Improves mathematical skills.
  2. Develops problem solving skills when planning robot routes.
  3. Develops logical thinking skills when coding and solving mathematical problems/equations.
  4. Generates excitement and a sense of achievement when confirming answers and collecting cards.
  5. Visualises coding by watching real robots execute coded instructions.
  6. Encourages teamwork and cooperation.
