Super Story Designers

Get coding by designing stories, animating actors and programming robots to bring the plot of a story to a good resolution!

The children are initially required to specify the missing elements of incomplete, pre-designed stories and then complete the stories by adding and fixing their codes. By fixing story scripts, the children learn how to use and connect code blocks together and build a sequence of instructions to animate the actors according to the story’s scenes.

The young dreamers can push their boundaries further and use their imaginations and coding skills to adjust, extend or change the story’s actions and plot in any way they like. Once completed, they can even choose to show and tell their story to their friends using the big screen.

Some stories are brought to life using mats, accessories, and programmable robots. The young story designers will need to code the robots to go and resolve the plot of the story.

Topics covered: Motion, designing, animation, storyboards, representing speech and thoughts, broadcasting messages, adding special effects, planning, sequencing, repetition, automation and pattern recognition.
